Scientists have solved the mystery of the ‘hand-standing’ bunnies

Typically Sauteur d’Alfort rabbits walk on their front legs, unlike other hand standing bunnies animals that walk on their hind legs.
Some researchers requested Scientists to give an explanation about their peculiar gait.
Scientists have told with a proper explanation of the gait. The ‘hand-standing’ rabbits usually walk on their forelegs because of a genetic mutation (a variation or a fault in genes) a PLoS study found.
Instead of hopping on their back legs like all other rabbits, this species lift their back legs from the ground and hence walks on the front legs while maintaining balance.

The Species was First Discovered in 1935

The species when first discovered, it was founded by scientists that this rabbit species is not able to jump or hop just like other rabbits.
The Poor Creature was not only different from other rabbits but also finding so difficulties in maintaining balance the hand standing bunnies.

Scientists discovered that the Alteration was in the RORB Gene of Rabbits.
This species of rabbits is having a warped RORB Gene, The only mutation that stood out really striking the hand standing bunnies.
This mutation can result in the loss of internal neurons of the spinal cord (Spinal Cord InterNeurons).
When we move, these internal neurons of the spinal cord fire all the time, they help in coordinating the muscle contractions and know if the other limbs are in balance or not.

Because of the loss of these internal spinal cord neurons, The Coordination of Muscle Contraction is not corrected and balanced in these rabbits.
